Hana Financial Group said on Tuesday it simultaneously launched the 'One Pick (ONE PICK) account', an allowance-management account for minors, and the customised 'One Pick Hana check card' for minors.

The newly launched One Pick products are dedicated to minors and are designed to help children starting economic life experience finance easily. The name carries the meanings of "finance you choose for yourself" and "the one you like best".

Hana Bank's One Pick account is open to any individual under 19. If the prior month's combined spending on a Hana check card is 50,000 won or more, it offers a preferential annual interest rate of up to 1.9 percent on up to 500,000 won of the final daily balance. Including the base rate of 0.1 percent, it offers an annual rate of up to 2 percent.

Hana Card launched the One Pick Hana check card for minor customers who are starting their financial lives.

The card comes in 2 versions, Style Type and Play Type, reflecting spending patterns and expanding benefits by service category. It also provides benefits without conditions based on the prior month's performance, reducing the burden for minor users starting card-based financial life.

Common benefits include cashback at convenience stores and cafes without prior-month spending conditions. If prior-month spending is 100,000 won or 200,000 won or more, users can receive up to 11,000 won in cashback per month, including 5 percent cashback on public transport, and an on-site 50 percent discount at amusement parks.

To mark the launch of the account, Hana Bank will provide Gong Cha beverage mobile coupons worth 5,000 won to the first 3,000 new account customers through the 15th.

It will also offer first-time Hana Bank customers benefits allowing them to choose 1 of 4 gifts from April 21 to May 31. It will also run an event to support scholarships of up to 1 million won for additional transactions such as signing up for a savings product.

For new One Pick Hana check card customers, Hana Card will provide 3,000 won cashback if they make a 3,000 won payment via Hana Pay at a convenience store within 1 month of card issuance.

Hana Financial said it plans to use the products to lay the groundwork for teenagers to become long-term customers and to expand linkages with financial products dedicated to the youth generation.

A Hana Financial official said the products offer children an easy and enjoyable first financial experience and provide parents with a tool to manage their children's finances. "We will raise satisfaction with first transactions through positive financial experiences and build long-term customer relationships," the official said.
