Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics are taking part side by side in Europe’s largest heating and cooling HVAC exhibition to showcase residential and commercial HVAC solutions. Samsung Electronics is holding its first joint display with FlaktGroup, acquired in November, at MCE (Mostra Convegno Expocomfort) 2026, which opened on March 24 (local time) in Milan, Italy.
LG Electronics also joined the event the same day and unveiled for the first time in Europe a heat pump total solution that integrates heating and cooling with hot-water supply. MCE is Europe’s largest HVAC exhibition and is held every two years. About 1,900 companies took part this year. MCE 2026 runs from March 24 to 27 at Fiera Milano.
Samsung Electronics introduced a central HVAC system that links five types of FlaktGroup indoor units with its 'DVM S2+' outdoor unit at a display area of about 500 square metres. FlaktGroup products such as the 'CAIRplus' air handling unit and the 'Geko' small heating and cooling unit work with Samsung Electronics' building management system platform and AI technology to deliver energy-saving effects.
In the residential zone, Samsung Electronics unveiled the 2026 model 'AI WindFree Combo Pro Wall-mounted'. It includes an 'AI Motion Wind' feature that can select seven airflow modes depending on lifestyle patterns and the space environment. The 'EHS All-in-One', launched this year, is a heat pump product that applies R32 refrigerant and a waste-heat recycling function to boost efficiency and reduce carbon emissions compared with fossil-fuel boilers.
LG Electronics introduced a full lineup including the air-source heat pump outdoor unit 'Therma V R290 Monobloc', which uses R290 refrigerant with a global warming potential of 0.02.
The exhibition also unveiled for the first time three new heat pump indoor units. They consist of a control unit that does not require connection to water piping, a hydro unit with key components built in, and an all-in-one combi unit with a built-in 200-litre water tank. LG Electronics previously acquired OSO, a European premium hot-water solutions company, to build out its water tank lineup. It completed an integrated heat pump solution that connects outdoor unit, indoor unit and water tank at the exhibition.
In the commercial segment, both companies showcased differentiated products. Samsung Electronics introduced R32 refrigerant across the entire 'DVM S2+' lineup and applied a function in which on-device AI learns the surrounding environment in real time to save energy. It also showcased a comprehensive HVAC solution aimed at high value-added industries such as data centres and clean rooms.
LG Electronics displayed the 'LG MultiV i' system air conditioner for large commercial spaces, the cloud-based central controller 'LG ACP i', and a chiller total solution that includes an inverter scroll chiller (ISC).
Lee Jae-sung (이재성), head of LG Electronics' ES Business Division and president, said, "We will speed up efforts to target Europe’s heat pump market with integrated solutions combining heating and cooling with hot-water systems. In the B2B area, we will strengthen market leadership with differentiated competitiveness from installation to operation and maintenance."
