SAP, the world’s largest business application company, is also pushing to shift to charging enterprise customers based on AI usage. Christian Klein, SAP’s chief executive, said so in a recent interview with Bloomberg.

Competition among leading AI companies over the enterprise market is also intensifying. Rivals’ attacks targeting Anthropic, which is known to be doing well in the enterprise market, are gaining momentum.
OpenAI is restructuring its strategy around coding and enterprise customers after judging that its “everything at once” approach has diluted focus. It will also nearly double headcount this year to 8,000 from the current 4,500. OpenAI will also hire large numbers of so-called “technical ambassadors” to help enterprise customers use AI tools better. OpenAI will also acquire developer tools startup Astral to strengthen its position in the AI coding market.
French AI startup Mistral also unveiled Forge, a platform for building customized AI models for enterprises. The platform helps companies train AI models from scratch using their own data. xAI, an AI company led by Elon Musk, has moved to secure enterprise customers by sending engineers directly to potential clients’ offices. The goal is to draw customers away from OpenAI and Anthropic.

Anthropic introduced Claude Code Channel, a Telegram and Discord integration feature for Claude Code. Developers can use Claude Channel to issue commands directly to Claude Code through messaging apps while on the move.

Google is integrating Gemini across its cloud-based productivity platform Workspace. The update added various functions, including document summaries, email organization and schedule management. Xiaomi unveiled MiMo-V2-Pro, an AI-based model with 1 trillion parameters. MiMo-V2-Pro draws attention for offering performance close to models from U.S. AI companies such as OpenAI and Anthropic at one-sixth to one-seventh of the cost for usage of 256,000 tokens or less. Alibaba reorganized its AI strategy around AI agents and introduced the “Alibaba Token Hub” business group. It is seen as a signal that Alibaba is shifting its focus to AI model-based digital assistants that consume far more tokens than existing chatbots.

Cloud data platform Snowflake is accelerating its expansion beyond data infrastructure into AI services targeting enterprise users. Microsoft is strengthening whiteboard technology by bringing in the team behind the AI-based collaboration platform “Cove.” Web hosting platform WordPress introduced an AI agent. The AI agent can handle writing, editing and publishing on WordPress, as well as managing comments, modifying metadata and organizing tags and categories. AI-based presentation and website creation platform Gamma added a new image generation tool.
