Toss Bank said on Wednesday it has joined a relay campaign to eradicate illegal gambling among teenagers.

The campaign is a broad social prevention effort hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. It centres on the message: “Illegal cyber gambling targeting teenagers is a fraudulent crime you can never win.” It continues as participants take verification photos and then nominate two others.

Toss Bank CEO Eun-mi Lee (이은미) joined the campaign at the company’s headquarters in Yeoksam-dong, Seoul’s Gangnam district, after being nominated by Toss Securities CEO Gyu-bin Kim (김규빈).

Chief Consumer Protection Officer Seung-rak Choi (최승락) and FDS leader Seung-gwan Nam (남승관) also took part. Toss Bank stressed its commitment to strengthening consumer protection and its abnormal transaction detection system, citing the possibility that illegal gambling among teenagers could be linked to financial fraud and illegal fund flows.

Lee said illegal gambling among teenagers is a serious crime that threatens future generations. She said Toss Bank will strengthen abnormal transaction detection and consumer protection systems and contribute to creating a safe financial environment.
