Integrated payments company Danal said on Wednesday it has obtained the top Level 1 rating under PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) v4.0.1, a global payment data security standard.
PCI-DSS is an international data security standard set by global card companies such as Visa and Mastercard. It is a benchmark for verifying information management systems and operational stability throughout the payment process. The v4.0.1 standard obtained by Danal includes more advanced management requirements tailored to the evolving IT environment.
With the certification, Danal passed all 464 detailed assessment items, including data encryption, network management and access controls.
It is expected to provide a safer payment environment for merchants and users of its core credit card and mobile payment businesses. It is also expected to help improve operational stability for its new businesses, including the all-in-one platform for foreigners, K.ONDA, and its stablecoin service, and to strengthen trust among partners.
A Danal official said, "Obtaining the top tier under PCI-DSS v4.0.1 is meaningful in that it confirms Danal's payment system fully meets global standards." The official added, "We will continue to build an advanced payment platform that customers can trust and use, placing the highest priority on 'trust' and 'stability,' which are the core values of financial and payment services."
