Hecto Group is running a blood donation campaign with its employees.
Hecto Group will hold the 'Hecto&' blood donation campaign for employees for two days from March 19 to 20. 'Hecto&' is an ESG programme the group is pursuing to spread social value through various social contribution activities and practise a sustainable culture of sharing.
The campaign was planned to encourage voluntary employee participation, reflect on the meaning of sharing life, and contribute to stabilising blood supplies. Hecto Group stressed that the campaign is in its ninth round, making it meaningful as a continuing effort rather than a one-off event.
According to the Korean Red Cross Blood Services Headquarters, nationwide blood reserves as of March 13 stood at about 3.5 days' worth, below the stable benchmark of five days. If reserves fall below five days, they are managed under an 'attention stage', making public interest and participation necessary to secure stable blood supplies. The Korean Red Cross blood information statistics also show the number of blood donors in South Korea fell by more than 25 percent, to about 1.26 million in 2024 from about 1.69 million in 2014, indicating a gradual decline in the donor base. Against this backdrop, Hecto Group employees will take part voluntarily in the blood donation campaign to practise sharing life.
About 160 employees from key Hecto Group affiliates have completed registration to participate. They include IT-based information services company Hecto Innovation, fintech company Hecto Financial, data specialist Hecto Data and global healthcare company Hecto Healthcare. Hecto Group will provide participants with Hecto Healthcare's 'O2 Booster Fresh' product and delivery gift vouchers to encourage voluntary participation.
Blood donation certificates contributed by employees through the campaign are set to be delivered to the Korea Childhood Cancer Foundation. The foundation is a non-profit social welfare organisation that supports the treatment, recovery and healthy return to society of children battling childhood cancer, leukaemia and rare incurable diseases.
Hecto Group has continued various social contribution activities for local communities and vulnerable groups. It has made ongoing donations of sponsorship funds and goods to organisations including the Gangnam-gu Senior Integrated Support Center, Gangnam-gu Dream Start and single-parent family support group 'Groomom'. It has also worked with the Korean Red Cross Seoul Branch and the Korean Red Cross Seoul Southern Blood Center to hold regular blood donation campaigns, continuing ESG activities aimed at fulfilling corporate social responsibility.
A Hecto Group official said, "We hope this blood donation campaign, bringing together the warm hearts of our employees, will help practise the value of sharing life and deliver a positive impact on society." The official added, "Hecto Group will continue to 추진 various ESG activities to fulfil social responsibility commensurate with corporate growth."
