[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang] Microsoft is adding a network speed test feature through a Windows 11 update, allowing users to check internet speed directly from the taskbar, The Verge reported on Feb. 18 local time.

Microsoft unveiled the new feature through the Windows 11 Insider Release Preview channel. Users can run a speed test in their default browser by right-clicking the taskbar network icon.

The feature supports Ethernet, Wi-Fi and mobile data, allowing users to check network speed without visiting third-party websites. Microsoft said it has tested the feature since last year and that the update enables more intuitive speed measurements.

Microsoft is also adding camera settings options to the Windows 11 settings menu, allowing pan and tilt adjustments for supported cameras. Microsoft did not say which devices support the feature. The update also includes new emoji and a full-page widget settings menu.

Microsoft has not yet disclosed when the update will be released widely.
