[Digital Today reporter Seok Dae-geon] Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics simultaneously unveiled new AI home appliance products at North America’s largest kitchen and bath exhibition.

The two companies said on Tuesday they participated side by side in KBIS (The Kitchen & Bath Industry Show) 2026, held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. KBIS is hosted by the National Kitchen & Bath Association and marks its 62nd edition this year. About 700 brands, including home appliances, furniture and interior design, take part, and tens of thousands of industry officials such as interior specialists, kitchen designers and builders visit the event.

Samsung Electronics set up an exhibition space of about 370 square metres under the theme, “Enabling Better Living”. It introduced its latest Bespoke AI home appliances, including refrigerators and washer-dryers equipped with AI technology, and also displayed its luxury built-in brand Dacor lineup.

In the Dacor exhibition area, column refrigerators were staged to be hidden inside a curved wall, implementing a built-in design that blends appliances and interiors. A Samsung Electronics official said, “We plan to actively target the U.S. market with U.S.-specific appliances featuring customised AI technology and luxury design.”

LG Electronics unveiled the ultra-premium kitchen appliance brand SKS and LG SIGNATURE, high-efficiency appliances based on core component technologies, and the ThinQ Pro building management platform aimed at the North American business-to-business market, in a 1,003-square-metre booth.

SKS introduced a laundry solution for the first time at the exhibition, expanding its product range beyond the kitchen to the laundry room. The flagship 29-inch SKS WashCombo precisely adjusts drum rotation speed with deep-learning-based AI control and combines a mini washer at the bottom to enable separated laundry loads.

LG SIGNATURE, marking its 10th anniversary this year, introduced three design collections: Iconic, Tailored and Seamless. As a strategy reflecting North American customer preference trends, the lineup is divided into Iconic with a metallic exterior, Tailored with selectable colours, and Seamless in a built-in style developed in collaboration with Italian furniture brand Poliform. The full product lineup increased to 10 items from the previous range by adding kitchen products such as hoods, cooktops and wall ovens.

In its B2B business, LG Electronics unveiled the ThinQ Pro space management platform for builders for the first time. The company said products can be automatically registered simply by scanning a QR code, and the platform supports household-by-household appliance monitoring, remote after-sales service, energy management and early fault detection.

Baek Seung-tae (백승태), head of LG Electronics’ HS business division and a vice president, said, “With premium appliances that broaden customer choice, including AI-evolved SKS and LG SIGNATURE, we will provide North American customers with an even more premium user experience.”
