The Monad Foundation is speeding up the scaling of its Layer 1 blockchain by hiring three senior executives from Optimism, FalconX and BVNK, Cointelegraph reported on Feb. 17.

Urvit Goel (우르빗 고엘) moved from the Optimism Foundation to become vice president of market strategy at the Monad Foundation. Joannita Titan (조아니타 티탄) joined from FalconX as head of institutional growth. Sagar Sarvai (사가르 사르바이), formerly of BVNK, joined as head of the Asia-Pacific region.

They are financial and blockchain infrastructure specialists who have built careers at JPMorgan, Deutsche Bank, Anchorage Digital, Fireblocks and Amazon, Cointelegraph said.

Monad launched its mainnet in November and conducted a token sale through Coinbase. The amount of stablecoins in circulation on Monad is about $450 million, and total value locked in DeFi protocols is more than $200 million.

The network can process 10,000 transactions per second with transaction finality in under 1 second, and it is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). It has drawn attention for a design targeting high-frequency trading and payment systems, Cointelegraph said.
