Oh Hwa-kyung (오화경), chairman of the Korea Savings Banks Federation, visited the Ahyeon Senior Welfare Center near Aeogae Station with employees ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday. They served warm tteokguk to elderly people and supported replacing old wheelchairs and providing kitchen equipment, it said on Wednesday.
The activity included practical support that fits into daily life, such as providing new wheelchairs to help seniors with limited mobility move more comfortably and replacing worn kitchen items with new ones.
Oh said, "Ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, I wanted to give local seniors a bowl of hot tteokguk and the gift of time that does not feel lonely." He added, "Just as savings banks serve as a sturdy pillar of support for people’s finance, we will continue to share warmth alongside local seniors."
The Korea Savings Banks Federation said, "We have continued steady sharing, including serving meals at senior welfare centers." It added, "We plan to lend more helping hands for seniors’ happy daily lives."
