The TON Foundation has launched the TON Pay SDK, which supports cryptocurrency payments inside Telegram, Cointelegraph reported on Feb. 9.
This allows merchants and developers to accept cryptocurrencies such as Toncoin (TON) and Tether (USDt) as payment methods in Telegram mini apps.
TON Pay aims to simplify wallet infrastructure and integrate payment flows to turn cryptocurrency payments into consumer transactions. Nikola Plecas (니콜라 플레카스), vice president of payments at the TON Foundation, said developers can accept cryptocurrency payments inside Telegram with a simple SDK integration. He said it supports various tokens as well as Toncoin, and fees are less than 1 cent.
TON Pay will initially apply only to Telegram mini apps, but will later expand to the web environment and other platforms. The foundation plans to support subscription payments, gasless transactions and region-specific off-ramps, and is also preparing to work with regional partners for custody, regulation and fiat currency conversion.
