AI cross-border shopping platform Sajoo has hired Hi-jae Jung (정희재) as chief financial officer.
Jung carried out projects at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in the United States to develop growth strategies for companies in deep-tech areas such as edge and cloud computing. He led M&A and business expansion at IT companies in and outside South Korea, including Krafton and Amazon in the United States.
Sajoo is an AI cross-border shopping platform headquartered in Japan and currently operates services in both South Korea and Japan. It offers features that automatically calculate additional costs beyond the product price, including customs clearance fees, tariffs and shipping charges, using AI, as well as a function that localises product descriptions and purchase options by entering a URL alone.
"Sajoo has a business model with strong potential for global expansion and a work culture that can realise it, so I thought I would be able to fully utilise the capabilities I have built over my career so far," Jung said. "I will do my part so that Sajoo can grow into a global company with a solid financial and management foundation," he said.
"It is an honour to hire talent with expertise spanning technology, finance and management strategy at this important time as we accelerate global expansion," Sajoo CEO Gilmaro said. "I expect achievements in standardising services for users worldwide and aggressive global expansion, based on a solid financial foundation," he said.
