KakaoPay said on Sunday it will fully waive payment fees for small online and offline merchants for one week through Feb. 15, ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
KakaoPay's holiday fee support for small merchants is the fourth such programme, and its efforts to cut fees to support small business owners have continued since 2020.
It is also making various business efforts to grow together with small merchants, which it called a core partner of its business, in addition to fee support.
KakaoPay said, "As we turned to our first annual operating profit last year, we want to more firmly connect financial performance and social responsibility in line with KakaoPay's vision of 'finance that benefits everyone.'" It added, "We will fulfil our role as an inclusive financial partner that injects vitality into the small-merchant ecosystem through innovation and mutual growth."
