Bitcoin spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) posted net inflows for a third straight trading day, turning October’s flow back into positive territory.

On Oct. 29, Cointelegraph reported that $137 million flowed into bitcoin spot ETFs. Net inflows over the past three trading days rose to about $424 million.

That shifted the cumulative flow for October back to net inflows. After running a net outflow through Oct. 28, the monthly balance recorded net inflows of $111 million on the day’s inflows. The flow, which worsened after about $774 million left in the last two trading days of last week, improved heading into the end of the month.

The inflows coincided with a decision by the U.S. Federal Reserve to hold its benchmark rate steady. The Fed kept the rate at 3.75 to 4 percent on Oct. 28. Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh warned that inflation remains above the 2 percent target. Even as monetary policy uncertainty persists, money still flowed into bitcoin spot ETFs.

But it did not lead to a broader recovery in market sentiment. Louis Hwang, an analyst at Bitget, said the Fed did not present a new direction and bitcoin’s short-term moves could be more heavily driven by U.S. Treasury yields, the dollar’s direction and risk-asset appetite. He said caution over macroeconomic variables remains, making it difficult for spot prices to show strength on ETF inflows alone.

Bitcoin traded around $77,700, down 3.54 percent from 24 hours earlier. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index held at 51 for a second straight day, staying in "neutral" territory. ETF inflows, spot prices and investor sentiment did not move in the same direction.

Ethereum spot ETFs continued to move in the opposite direction. Ethereum spot ETFs saw $21 million in outflows on the day, and October’s cumulative net outflows swelled to $1.35 billion. Ethereum slid to as low as $2,210, down 4.20 percent over 24 hours.

Against that backdrop, market attention is focused on whether bitcoin spot ETFs will extend net inflows over the remaining two trading days. Bitcoin spot ETFs have turned positive on a monthly basis, but large net outflows from Ethereum spot ETFs continue, making the divergence in flows between major digital assets more pronounced.
