An analysis said Litecoin (LTC) is showing a pattern similar to the long-term price structure that XRP and Quant (QNT) formed ahead of a past bull market, making it a potential medium- to long-term asset to watch. It also warned that Litecoin has yet to break its long-term downtrend line, so the gains of the two assets should not be applied as-is.

On Sept. 30 (local time), blockchain outlet Decrypt reported that market research community Ultimate Crypto highlighted Litecoin's current chart, citing cases in which XRP and QNT rose sharply after breaking out of multi-year triangle consolidation structures.

The three assets share the feature of a symmetric triangle, with lower highs over time while lows rise. Ultimate Crypto suggested, "If you missed XRP and QNT, watch LTC over the long term."

It drew a line, saying this does not mean Litecoin will post the same scale of gains as XRP or QNT. It said the three assets differ in market capitalisation and supply structure, so past gains cannot be simply applied as Litecoin's target price.

XRP formed a large symmetric triangle after its 2018 peak. While the upper resistance line fell from around $3, the lower support line rose after the 2020 low. It later broke through its long-term downward resistance line during a rise in late 2024.

On the chart, XRP's rise was presented as about 742.67% from the bottom of the structure to around $3.0687. XRP then rose to higher prices before entering a correction phase. Its current price is around $1.49, with its market capitalisation tallied at about $93.8 billion.

QNT also went through a similar multi-year compression. On a two-month candlestick basis, it repeatedly defended support in the $50 to $70 range while moving under a falling resistance line of lower highs. It then strongly broke above the upper trend line and rose about 427.92% to $299.83 from the chart low.

QNT is currently trading at about $282.84, up about 25.8% over 24 hours. Its market capitalisation is about $3.41 billion.

Recent strength in QNT was also accompanied by business-related developments. The Clearing House selected Quant on Sept. 24 as a provider of interoperability and transaction management technology for its on-chain money initiative. The tokenised deposit network is scheduled to be provided to participating financial institutions in the first half of 2027.

Litecoin has not yet reached such a breakout stage. On a three-month candlestick basis, it has been moving within a large triangle consolidation range that has continued since 2018, and it recently rebounded after testing the lower trend line in the $40 to $50 range. But it has yet to break the upper long-term downward resistance line.

Litecoin is currently priced around $66.85. Its market capitalisation is about $5.19 billion, with circulating supply of 77.67 million LTC and a maximum supply of 84 million. On Sept. 25, it surged about 24% in a day as network activity, futures positions and trading volume rose together, but it later fell back again from the low $70 range.

What Ultimate Crypto highlighted was the sequence of the rise rather than a specific price. It pointed to a pattern in which prices were compressed over a long period, then broke through the long-term downward resistance line, and then the magnitude of gains expanded. In Litecoin's case, by contrast, the first key gate — a break of the long-term downward resistance line — has not yet been confirmed. It said a key metric for judging the technical trend will be whether Litecoin can move above that resistance line and then hold prices above it.

As a result, Litecoin is currently staying in a long-term triangle consolidation range that is being compared with the past bullish patterns of XRP and QNT. It also said whether the sharp rallies seen in those two assets will be repeated in Litecoin is a separate question, and that it is necessary to also check actual market moves such as whether the trend line is broken and trading volume.
