Crypto trader Crypto Michael said he is still holding an XRP long position he entered last month as of Sept. 19, local time.

Blockchain media outlet The Crypto Basic reported he posted a screen showing his position on XRP/USDT perpetual futures with 20-times leverage.

The screen showed an entry price of $0.9918, a mark price of $1.4036 and a return of 830.51 percent. The article said the return reflects 20-times leverage rather than the spot price gain in XRP. The mark price is $0.4118 above the entry price, implying an actual price increase of about 41.5 percent.

Crypto Michael said he expects the uptrend to steepen and argued investors should not remain on the sidelines. The article said this is an individual view and does not guarantee further gains.

The position follows up on his July 1 comments about accumulating XRP. He wrote, "I am continuing to accumulate XRP" and "You will soon know why." At the time, XRP was around $1.06 on the weekly chart and traded near the lower end of a large falling wedge pattern formed after a drop from above $3.

The chart at the time marked $1.90 to $2.10 as a key price range. When it was mentioned again later, XRP was trading at around $1.15. The screens released this time show the sequence from the July accumulation comments to the September leveraged position.

The article said the disclosed return does not mean final realised profit. While the position is held, unrealised profit and loss changes with the price, and final profit can also vary depending on the liquidation point, trading fees and funding fees.

It also said 20-times leverage amplifies losses as well as gains. If the price moves against expectations, margin can shrink quickly and trigger forced liquidation. The article said it is difficult to assess overall risk from the disclosed entry price and return alone because it is hard to know additional margin or other positions in the account.
