[DigitalToday reporter Ho-jung Lee] Krafton's creative studio Neon Giant will release the action shooter RPG 'The Ascent' for Nintendo Switch 2 on Dec. 3.
On Sept. 10, the industry said Neon Giant announced the Switch 2 version and its release date through Nintendo Direct. The release is part of a platform expansion plan flagged in July in a fifth anniversary roadmap for 'The Ascent'.
The Switch 2 version will be sold on the Nintendo eShop as a digital-only Ultimate Edition. It includes the base game and three existing downloadable content (DLC) packs: the story expansion 'Cyber Heist', plus 'CyberSec Pack' and 'Cyber Warrior Pack'.
It will cost $29.99 and support a total of 10 languages, including Korean. Pre-orders begin at 10 a.m. on Oct. 6, and buyers can purchase it at a 10 percent discount, or $26.99, until the official release.
Ahead of the launch, it will distribute a legacy patch on Nov. 19 for existing platforms such as PC, Xbox and PlayStation. It includes localisation improvements and fixes for existing issues, and those improvements will also be applied to the Switch 2 version.
'The Ascent' is an action shooter RPG set in a cyberpunk world and supports single-player and cooperative play for up to four players. More than 12 million users have played it since its 2021 release.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version will be released simultaneously worldwide, including in South Korea, at 11 a.m. on Dec. 3.
