JobKorea, an AI- and data-based HR tech platform operated by WorkSphere, held the HR conference HReka 26 on Aug. 27 at Amoris Hall in GS Tower in Seoul’s Yeoksam-dong and shared HR trends.
JobKorea organised the conference sessions by focusing on changes companies face, including AX (AI transformation) in recruitment and HR work, AI organisation management and data-driven performance management.
The first session was led by Chang-jun Lee (이창준), WorkSphere’s chief strategy officer, on the topic, “Why is hiring becoming increasingly difficult?” He examined structural reasons behind difficulties in hiring in the AI era. Lee stressed that automating work with AI does not immediately translate into performance or sales. He said efforts must continue in recruitment work to narrow the gap between outputs and performance.
Companies’ experiences applying AI to HR and recruitment work were also shared. Dong-hoon Lee (이동훈), an HR managing director at LG AI Research, introduced a case in which capabilities were quantified into skill units to assess job levels and link them to compensation and recruitment standards, under the theme “Building a high-performing AI organisation based on vision and capabilities.” Young-ju Kim (김영주), head of the HR AX TF at LG Uplus, shared the institutional environment required and practical points to note when using AI in recruitment through “HR change strategies in the AX era and implications gained from 추진 AX.”
In addition, Ji-wook Hwang (황지욱), an HRBP in KT’s Enterprise division, Anna Kim (김안나), CPSO at Lemonbase, and Jae-yong Shin (신재용), a professor at Seoul National University, introduced insights, know-how and research findings needed for recruitment work in the AI era.
JobKorea plans to continue creating a forum through HReka where companies and HR professionals can share the latest HR trends and on-the-ground cases and discuss their concerns. It plans to run both the lecture-focused HReka conference and a small networking programme, the HReka meetup, and continue sharing insights and exchanges among practitioners.
Eun-hye Jung (정은혜), head of WorkSphere’s Insight Strategy Team, said it was meaningful that many people could take part in the event, which was organised to deliver practical insights into HR in the AI era. She said JobKorea will continue working to deliver recruitment and HR know-how needed in the AI era based on data and experience accumulated as a recruitment platform.
