Korea Microsoft will hold the “Microsoft Industry Summit” on Sept. 30 at the COEX Grand Ballroom in Seoul to share industry-specific AI transformation strategies and on-the-ground cases.
At the event, Korea Microsoft will share AI use cases in finance, retail, manufacturing, healthcare and education, as well as the direction of Frontier Transformation. It will also run sector-specific customer case studies and technical sessions using major products and services such as Microsoft 365 Copilot, Microsoft Foundry and Azure.
In the finance program, participants will review the status of AI adoption in South Korea’s financial sector and challenges to broader rollout. They will also explore ways to expand AI and agents from improving personal productivity to innovation in actual work and customer service. SC First Bank will share its companywide rollout and implementation process for Microsoft 365 Copilot. Shinhan Investment Corp and Shinhan Capital will introduce their experiences in identifying and spreading employee-led work agents. KB Kookmin Bank will present cases of AI-based customer service and agentic work innovation.
In the retail program, the summit will examine changes AI agents bring across retail, from product discovery and purchasing experiences to employee work, marketing decisions and brand strategy. Lotte Duty Free will share work innovation cases using Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio. Shinsegae International will introduce its experience of rolling out AI companywide based on Microsoft Foundry and Azure OpenAI.
Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy Store will introduce marketing decision-making innovation combining data and multi-agents. Hyundai Futurenet will introduce a shopping agent case applied to Hyundai Department Store’s AI shopping service “Heydi.” Amorepacific will share its GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) strategy in response to the era of generative AI search.
The manufacturing program will run in 2 tracks: “manufacturing innovation,” which turns corporate knowledge and data into AI competitiveness, and “physical AI,” which applies AI to robots, production facilities and processes.
In the manufacturing innovation track, the summit will introduce cases of using research and development and equipment knowledge at Amorepacific and POSCO, as well as experiences applying AI work and expanding it across organizations at Hanwha Ocean and HD Hyundai. Kia of Hyundai Motor Group will share cases of applying its in-car AI service. LG Electronics plans to share an AI home experience combining AI agents and voice technology.
In the healthcare and education program, participants will explore ways to integrate AI across the full research process, from data preparation and knowledge discovery at hospitals, universities and research institutions to hypothesis building, analysis and collaboration. POSTECH will share change management experiences for AI use and organizational rollout tailored to the roles of university members after introducing Microsoft 365 Copilot. Seegene will present its experience in exploring candidates for pathogen detection and building a global technology-sharing platform. Yonsei University Health System will showcase cases of natural-language-based exploration of clinical data.
Won-woo Cho (조원우), head of Korea Microsoft, said, “Companies that have adopted AI are now asking about performance, and the standard should be the depth of transformation, not the scale of adoption.” He added, “I hope the industry experiences shared at this event will provide new insights needed for Frontier Transformation to move from companies equipped with AI to companies that work with AI.”
