Panasonic Korea said on Sept. 7 it will introduce Epredia anatomical pathology solutions for cancer diagnosis in South Korea.

Epredia is a subsidiary of Japan-based healthcare company PHC Holdings Corporation and provides precision cancer diagnostic solutions.

PHC Holdings Corporation spun off from Panasonic Healthcare and became independent in 2014.

Based on major brands including Menzel-Gläser, Microm, Shandon and Richard-Allan Scientific, Epredia offers a product lineup spanning the full histopathology workflow. It includes slide and cassette printers for specimen labeling and tracking, as well as tissue processors, embedding centers, microtomes, cryostats, stainers, coverslippers and digital pathology solutions.

Panasonic Korea plans to supply Epredia products to domestic customers in the pathology and research fields. It also plans to provide tailored product consulting and technical support services that take into account testing environments and operating characteristics.

A Panasonic Korea official said demand continues to grow for digital transformation and work efficiency in pathology testing. The official said Panasonic Korea will support domestic customers in building efficient pathology testing environments by combining Epredia's global capabilities in precision cancer diagnosis with Panasonic Korea's domestic sales and service network.
