KB Financial Group is holding a competition in which employees solve on-the-job challenges using artificial intelligence (AI) and will apply winning projects to actual work.
KB Financial said on Sept. 7 it held the 2026 Group Integrated AI Agent Competition on Sept. 3 at KB Kookmin Bank’s new building in Yeouido, Seoul.
A total of 116 teams and 316 people from seven affiliates took part, including KB Financial Group, KB Kookmin Bank, KB Securities, KB Insurance, KB Card, KB Life and KB Capital. After affiliate-level preliminaries, 12 teams advanced to the finals.
Finalists presented cases of improving frontline financial work with AI, including security log analysis and anomalous behaviour detection, internal document analysis, analysis of customer feedback (VOC) and early detection of consumer risk, data analysis, insurance product development, customer counselling and support for used-car purchases.
The grand prize went to KB Insurance’s "Customer’s KB" team for its proposal, "Customer Care AI Control Centre". The approach uses 20 AI agents to monitor counselling and compensation work, check counselling quality, compliance and adherence to loss assessment standards, and identify items requiring action.
KB Financial plans to apply the winning projects identified in the competition to actual work and share AI agents with confirmed results across affiliates. It will also build verified cases into shared group AI assets and use them in other work.
A KB Financial official said, "The core of AI innovation lies in accurately understanding problems in the field and using technology to create practical change," adding, "We will support the on-site application of outstanding AI agents and their expansion across the group."
