Hecto Healthcare's probiotics brand De Simone is entering the pet health management market. Hecto Healthcare said on Monday it has launched De Simonek Pet probiotics, applying De Simone's accumulated probiotics technology to a pet product.
De Simonek Pet probiotics uses the De Simone Formulation, a proprietary ingredient that blends 8 strains. It contains 30 billion CFU per sachet. The company said it was designed to consider palatability so dogs and cats can take it daily without burden.
The De Simone Formulation reflects research findings through a clinical study in dogs. In the 2026 official consensus of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) on the diagnosis and treatment of chronic inflammatory enteropathy in dogs, the De Simone Formulation was presented as an 8-strain probiotic that can be considered when dietary therapy does not work. Chronic inflammatory enteropathy is called Chronic Inflammatory Enteropathy in English and is abbreviated as CIE.
A total of 133 pets took part in palatability evaluations during product development. Based on the results, the final design was set as a chicken flavor that both dogs and cats can enjoy without burden.
With the new product, De Simone will expand its portfolio from a people-centered probiotics brand to a brand that also covers pet health. To mark the launch of De Simonek Pet probiotics, it plans to run a promotion on its official website.
Hecto Healthcare CEO Seok-jin Kim (김석진) said, "Based on De Simone's probiotics research and technology accumulated over a long period, we are now introducing De Simonek Pet so we can be part of pets' healthy daily lives as well." He added, "While building on the expertise of the De Simone Formulation, we carefully considered palatability so dogs and cats can take it comfortably every day, and we will grow it into a brand that helps owners consistently manage their pets' healthy daily lives."
