Hana Financial Group will support egg distribution costs to ease the Chuseok price burden and help revitalize neighborhood commercial districts.
Hana Financial said on Sept. 5 it signed a business agreement on Sept. 4 with the Small Enterprise and Market Service and the Korea Federation of Micro Enterprise to support price stabilization through supplies of “Kind Egg” products to neighborhood supermarkets.
Under the agreement, 20 poultry farms will be selected to supply about 120,000 trays of “the Kind Egg” to about 4,000 neighborhood supermarkets nationwide. Consumers have been able to buy a set of 2 trays, or 60 eggs, for 9,990 won since Sept. 4.
Hana Financial will contribute a shared-growth donation fund to support labor costs required for washing, candling and sorting eggs, as well as nationwide logistics transport costs. It plans to reduce costs incurred in distribution to secure price competitiveness.
The Small Enterprise and Market Service will handle price labeling, the preparation of fair trade operating guidelines, publicity and project management. The Korea Federation of Micro Enterprise will use a nationwide distribution network of small and medium-sized supermarket chains to support product placement and sales.
Hana Financial Group Chairman Ham Young-joo (함영주) said, "We prepared this project so it can provide practical help to small business owners and consumers." He said, "We will continue support projects that contribute to the livelihoods economy."
