IBK Industrial Bank of Korea has been reselected as the operator of Suwon Special City’s treasury.
IBK said on Sept. 4 it signed an agreement with Suwon Special City on Sept. 3 at Suwon City Hall on handling Suwon city treasury operations.
Under the deal, the bank will operate Suwon’s treasury from 2027 to 2030 for 4 years, managing about 3.9 trillion won annually.
The bank will operate and manage the city’s general account, special account and funds as a single treasury bank. It will handle tasks including collecting various revenues and making expenditures.
IBK CEO Jang Min-young (장민영) said Suwon Special City has been a partner with the bank for more than 60 years. He stressed it would support the city’s efforts to revitalise the local economy based on its experience operating treasuries and its policy finance capabilities.
Suwon Special City Mayor Lee Jae-joon (이재준) said the bank has operated Suwon’s treasury stably for a long time. He said he hoped cooperation would continue in improving convenience for residents and supporting small and midsized businesses and small merchants.
