China\'s rapid AI progress credited to \'distillation\' but is that the whole story?

Pushback is growing within the U.S. AI industry against the view that Chinese AI model advances can be explained solely by “distillation,” a method of training models using outputs from more advanced systems. Cohere CEO Aidan Gomez said China has built strong capabilities beyond copying and distillation and that some recent Chinese models have outperformed top U.S. models on certain benchmarks. U.S. agencies and Anthropic have alleged industrial-scale illegal distillation, while China has rejected those claims.

AI hacking must be stopped with security-aware AI, AhnLab executive says

AhnLab AI development head Seung-kyung Lee (이승경) said AI-driven attacks should be countered with AI that understands security. He said defense requires security-specialized AI built on structured data such as threat intelligence and monitoring information. AhnLab said it analyzes about 190 million security objects a month and processes 50 billion tokens. Lee said cyber security competition will be decided by AI reasoning. AhnLab also highlighted its SaaS-focused AhnLab AI Plus platform.

AhnLab aims to transform into AI-native security firm and target 1 trillion won revenue

AhnLab said it will transform into an AI-native security company and unveiled its integrated brand, AhnLab AI PLUS. The company plans to reorganise about 30 security products and services, threat intelligence and security operations experience around AI. It also outlined a shift to SaaS and subscription models and plans to expand AhnLab AI PLUS Endpoint and SecOps. AhnLab targets 1 trillion won in revenue by 2035 and a 30 percent global revenue share.
