AhnLab has declared it will transition into an AI-native security company.
AhnLab on Tuesday morning held a press briefing and unveiled its integrated brand, “AhnLab AI PLUS”, which reorganises about 30 security products and services, threat intelligence (TI) and security operations experience around AI. It also announced product and platform strategy, agentic AI technology and real-world application results, and mid- to long-term investment and growth plans. Through its AI-native security strategy, it presented growth targets of reaching 1 trillion won in revenue by 2035 and a 30 percent share of global revenue.
According to the company, AhnLab AI PLUS is an integrated brand symbolising AhnLab’s AI-native security strategy and direction. It is also a platform and architecture concept that organically connects its technology, products and services. Centered on this, AhnLab will move from “AI-powered security”, which applies AI to existing products and services to strengthen detection, analysis, judgement and response capabilities, to implementing “AI-native security”, which designs products, services and security operations around AI. It plans to expand AI adoption from individual products to its company-wide security portfolio and overall business system.
Based on AhnLab AI PLUS, AhnLab plans to connect data dispersed across products and domains into a single security context and implement an agentic AI-based architecture in which multiple AI agents collaborate to carry out security operations processes. It aims to build an AI-native security operations system in which AI understands key risks, sets priorities and helps people make faster and more accurate decisions.
AhnLab Chief Executive Seok-gyun Kang (강석균) said AhnLab AI PLUS sets out a direction of reforming its business structure around SaaS, implementing AI-native security by redesigning products, data and operations around AI, and expanding both customer security value and AhnLab’s growth.
AhnLab will shift its products and services to a SaaS structure that allows continuous updates and enables use, renewal and expansion. It plans to support customers so they can apply necessary products and functions first, rather than adopting large-scale systems all at once, and flexibly expand functions and protection scope as security environments and operational needs change.
Based on its products, services and security capabilities, AhnLab will also push in earnest to expand “AhnLab AI PLUS Endpoint” and “AhnLab AI PLUS SecOps”.
AhnLab AI PLUS Endpoint is a protection platform that integrates EPP and EDR on a SaaS basis. It supports existing customers in transitioning stably to a SaaS environment while maintaining protection continuity, and expands protection targets from PCs to servers, virtual environments, containers and mobile.
AhnLab will also support hybrid configurations in consideration of customer regulations and operating environments.
AhnLab AI PLUS SecOps is an AI-based security operations platform that connects diverse security data and operational functions centered on XDR, MDR and AI SOC. It links security signals generated by AhnLab products and third-party solutions across endpoints, networks and cloud to analyse attack context and priorities, and supports prevention, detection, investigation and response as a single operational flow. In the future, it will broaden its scope to include threat exposure management and attack surface management, and gradually expand functions in which AI classifies and investigates large-scale security events and suggests response measures.
AhnLab’s policy is to expand its product delivery model based on SaaS from one-off deployment and sales to continuous service provision. It plans to continuously provide customers with the latest security functions and threat information, and support them in introducing needed functions first and then expanding services and protection scope depending on operating environments and security levels.
It also plans to shift a business structure centered on product sales to a SaaS and subscription structure that leads to customers’ continuous use, renewal and expansion, and to pursue both customers’ advancement of security operations and AhnLab’s growth in recurring revenue.
AhnLab is also accelerating implementation of “agentic AI security”, in which AI recognises and reasons about security situations and performs needed actions, based on connected data and product functions.
AhnLab will implement “agentic AI security”, in which AI recognises and reasons about security situations and performs needed actions, based on connected data and product functions. On this basis, it plans to connect everything from preventive measures to detection, analysis, investigation and response into a single “AI-native security lifecycle”.
AhnLab is implementing agentic AI security based on more than 2.5 petabytes of security data, 13 security-specific AI models and 60 security task tools that AI agents can use. It processes more than 190 million security objects and more than 50 billion tokens each month, and shortened processing time for some AI SOC tasks by about 60 percent, from 5 minutes to 2 minutes, the company explained.
AhnLab will treat AI as a means to enhance technological competitiveness and as a key driving force in transforming how the company grows, and will invest 100 billion won in AI over the next 3 years.
AhnLab has built up technological competitiveness by investing more than 30 percent of annual revenue in research and development. Going forward, it will quickly shift the focus of that R&D investment and capability to AI. Over the next 3 years, it plans to concentrate investment on “AI infrastructure” to strengthen AI computing and data and platform foundations, and on “AI R&D capabilities” to enhance AI technology, specialist talent and R&D capacity. It aims to accelerate AI transformation across products and services and security operations, as well as development, quality and data engineering overall.
Based on this, AhnLab stressed it plans to achieve 1 trillion won in revenue by 2035 and expand the share of global revenue to more than 30 percent, becoming an AI-native security platform company.
Kang said, “At a time when AI is changing the game rules of cybersecurity and the competitive order of the security industry, ‘AhnLab AI PLUS’ is AhnLab’s next chapter.” He added, “Based on responsible innovation, we will support customers’ proactive response and safe security operations, and grow into an ‘AI-native security platform company’ that comes to mind first when customers face security issues in the AI era.”
