Korea Post to cut delivery costs for small merchants on direct-to-consumer sites with Cafe24 deal

The Ministry of Science and ICT’s Korea Post will work with Cafe24 to reduce logistics and financial burdens for small merchants running or preparing their own direct-to-consumer shopping sites. Under the agreement, contracted parcels can be sent from 2,900 won depending on weight and size, with additional discounts for some international mail services. Korea Post will also waive key fees for savings customers and apply a preferential interest rate of up to 0.15 percent a year.

KB Financial to contribute 3 billion won to mutual growth fund, seeks 5 billion won sub-fund

KB Financial Group is setting up a mutual growth master fund to support impact companies that pursue both social value and financial performance. KB Financial said it formed the fund on Sept. 30 with the Large & Small Business & Rural Cooperation Foundation and Korea Venture Investment Corp. It said this is the first case of using mutual growth cooperation funds for venture investment after an enforcement decree revision. The fund will also seek to build a 5 billion won sub-fund through private matching.
