AI agents steal thousands of credentials in under six hours, Google report says

Cyber attackers used a multi-agent AI framework to steal thousands of credentials in under six hours, a Google report said. Google Mandiant Threat Intelligence Group said a suspected financially motivated attacker breached an organisation\'s cloud infrastructure, built an autonomous attack system and automated scanning and information gathering. The attacker combined an AI coding chatbot with prompts and agent prompts, and used a preset markdown playbook. The report also cited a suspected China-linked group using Gemini for initial intrusion tasks.

GPT-6 Astra era prompts rethink skills and instructions

OpenAI Codex developer experience lead Eric Provencher says the arrival of GPT-6 Astra makes it necessary to rethink how prompts are written for coding agents. He says guidance that worked before can now get in the way as model performance improves. He points to “skills” saved as markdown files and AGENTS.md instructions, warning that too many or overly long descriptions can be compressed and make selection harder, while conflicting guidance can pull in irrelevant instructions.

Cohere unveils Parse 5 document-parsing AI focused on cost performance

Cohere has unveiled Parse 5, a document-parsing AI model that converts PDFs, slides and images into structured markdown, VentureBeat reported. The 2.3-billion-parameter vision-language model targets cost performance rather than maximum accuracy, the company said. On its ParseBench benchmark it scored 79.2 points, below GPT-5.5 and some other models but above several tools. Pricing is $1.50 per 1,000 pages, and a single-tenant platform is offered for high-volume users.
