Science ministry supports K-OTT fundraising, pushes overseas expansion
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT held an investment attraction showcase in Busan on June 19-20 as a side event to the 2026 Korea International Streaming Festival. Companies with media technology and content planning proposals presented to domestic and overseas investors. After competition, 19 firms won on-site presentation slots. Around 30 investors and buyers joined one-on-one consultations, and three investment intent agreements were signed on site.

OpenAI considers mega data centre in Ohio backed by Nvidia
OpenAI is seeking to lease a 10-gigawatt AI data centre in the U.S. state of Ohio, a move that could rank among the largest single-site AI computing infrastructure investments if completed. Discussions are based on funding support from Nvidia. The proposed location is the former Portsmouth gas diffusion plant site in Pike County. OpenAI’s Stargate project has secured about 7 gigawatts across seven sites as of September 2025.

SBI Holdings in talks to acquire stake in Japan\'s crypto exchange Bitbank
SBI Holdings is negotiating to acquire a stake in Japanese cryptocurrency exchange Bitbank, The Block reported on May 1. The move aims to bring Bitbank in as a consolidated subsidiary and strengthen SBI Holdings\' position in Japan\'s crypto market. Chairman and CEO Yoshitaka Kitao (요시타카 키타오) said the company submitted a letter of intent and began talks on capital and business cooperation. SBI Holdings plans to proceed after due diligence and internal procedures.
