U.S. iPhone 18 Pro Max teardown shows Qualcomm X80 modem, not Apple C2

A teardown of the iPhone 18 Pro Max sold in the United States found it uses Qualcomm\'s Snapdragon X80 modem rather than Apple\'s in-house cellular modem, 9to5Mac reported, citing TechInsights. TechInsights also identified Apple’s N1 wireless module and a new mmWave antenna module.

The carriers are promoting subsidies, used-phone trade-in compensation and device upgrade programmes to pull in replacement demand. Industry attention is also on Apple’s first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, due for pre-orders on Oct. 16 and release on Oct. 23, which could divert demand from the iPhone 18 Pro models.
