W Games Q2 operating profit rises 29 percent to 70.1 billion won
W Games said on Tuesday its second-quarter revenue rose 22.5 percent from a year earlier to 210.6 billion won, while operating profit climbed 29 percent to 70.1 billion won. Its operating margin increased 1.7 percentage points to 33.3 percent, and EBITDA rose 31.2 percent to 76.9 billion won. Variable costs as a share of revenue fell to 26.3 percent. Direct-to-consumer sales accounted for 47.5 percent.

BETZ ETF draws attention for signalling bitcoin highs and lows
The sports betting exchange-traded fund BETZ, which has shown high correlation with bitcoin, is drawing attention as a new secondary market indicator. The ETF has tracked a similar cycle to bitcoin since 2020 and in some phases formed highs and lows earlier than bitcoin. W Games posted its best-ever quarterly results, helped by a turnaround to profit in new businesses and lower fee costs. The company reported first-quarter revenue of 205.0 billion won, up 26.6 percent from a year earlier. Operating profit rose 25.1 percent to 68.5 billion won and net profit increased 60.6 percent to 73.5 billion won. It plans medium- to long-term growth across social casino, iGaming and casual games.
