XRP faces renewed centralisation row as Justin Bons calls decentralisation claims a scam

Cyber Capital founder Justin Bons criticised claims that the XRP Ledger is decentralised, U.Today reported on Oct. 8. In a post on X, he said selling XRP to retail investors as decentralised was “an obvious scam”. Bons cited undocumented software code used during development and said XRPL had run on closed-source code for about two weeks, with changes set to be mandatory on Oct. 9. The dispute focuses on XRPL’s Unique Node List model and recommended validator lists.

Cardano down 92 percent but crypto researcher says it is not a dead asset

A crypto researcher said Cardano’s key challenge is securing network usage commensurate with its market value, rather than its technology. He pointed to a wide gap between Cardano’s valuation and real economic activity, noting its low DeFi total value locked versus its market capitalisation. He cited USDCx as a way to boost liquidity, welcomed governance changes and scalability efforts, and said the treasury must translate into users, liquidity, activity and applications.
