MSIT pushes to improve AI, software project compensation system, launches task force

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT has formed a task force to improve the compensation system for AI and software projects, to respond to the spread of AI technology and changes in the software business environment. The task force aims to establish an effective software cost-calculation system, noting limits in using the function point method for AI projects that require ongoing data learning and advancement. Experts from industry, academia and research are participating.

KOSA, SK AX develop AI FP Agent for automatic function point calculation

The Korea Association of AI and Software Industry (KOSA) said on Jan. 19 it will open an AI Function Point Agent service developed with SK AX to automatically calculate function point measurements. Based on a KOSA Excel form, the tool analyzes unit function lists to identify function types and prompts users to review unclear items. KOSA plans a second phase to enhance algorithms by learning from request-for-proposal and task instruction documents, and to add expert validation and confirmation procedures.
