AWS expands free 1-year Kiro AI development tool programme for students, includes three South Korean universities
Amazon Web Services said on Wednesday it is expanding Kiro Students, a programme that lets university students use its AI-based development tool Kiro for free for 1 year. AWS said it first introduced the programme in March at 11 universities in two countries and is now extending it to 121 new universities across 16 countries. That brings the total to 132 universities in 18 countries, including Seoul National University, Yonsei University and Kookmin University.

Instinct AI assistant adds dedicated email to handle sign-ups and inquiries directly
Instinct, an AI assistant, has introduced a dedicated email address feature so it can handle email-based tasks on a user’s behalf. The assistant can create and run its own account without going through a user’s mailbox, and can sign up for services, manage accounts and contact businesses. Users can forward emails such as order confirmations for returns. Instinct can also track long email threads and summarise remaining decisions, schedules and follow-ups.

Almost all Tving accounts compromised after poor access key management
Tving suffered a hacking incident that leaked information on 39.54 million user accounts, effectively all accounts on the platform, an investigation team said on Wednesday. Attackers stole a developer access key, penetrated the development environment and then accessed production systems to extract personal data. Leaked data included IDs, encrypted passwords and other personal information, while 361 development projects containing source code were also taken. No confirmed misuse has been found so far.
