Eugene Investment & Securities to test stablecoin payments for STO subscription funds with VTOZ

Eugene Investment & Securities will work with blockchain company VTOZ to verify a method for paying subscription funds for tokenised securities using stablecoins. The two companies signed an MOU to review the scope and ways to apply stablecoins in securities operations. They plan a proof of concept for stablecoins used in subscription-fund settlement and will consider infrastructure integration and further cooperation based on the results.

Hana Bank issues South Korea\'s first same-day settlement digital bond worth $100 million

Hana Bank issued a blockchain-based digital bond and became the first in South Korea’s foreign-currency bond market to implement same-day settlement, or T+0. The bank said it used Euroclear’s blockchain platform D-FMI to issue a $100 million, five-year foreign-currency digital bond. The digital bond processes issuance, registration and settlement on a distributed ledger network. Standard Chartered served as sole lead manager for the transaction.

Robinhood CEO says tokenization era opens in U.S., welcomes SEC five-year pilot

Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev expressed optimism after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission introduced a five-year, time-limited regulatory exemption for blockchain-based tokenized stock trading. Under the SEC’s “Innovation Exemption,” qualifying platforms can allow trading of tokenized U.S.-listed shares. The SEC set limits on eligible stocks, volumes and participants, and required tokenized trading to stop if the underlying stock is halted. Issuers must be notified and may object within 30 days.
