Hana Bank expands cooperation in Vietnam, targets infrastructure finance and QR payments

Hana Bank said it signed a memorandum of understanding in Hanoi to strengthen cooperation on infrastructure projects in Vietnam and overseas. The agreement, involving Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development and Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation, aims to pursue joint projects in infrastructure, energy and urban development. Hana Bank also launched a cross-border QR payment service with its unit GLN, NAPAS and BIDV, enabling QR payments at major tourist destinations in Vietnam.

Toss Bank issues 130,000 K-Pass debit cards in first month

Toss Bank said on Tuesday it issued about 130,000 K-Pass debit cards in the month after launch, averaging around 4,100 cards a day, or about 3 per minute. The card offers an additional 2,000 won cashback when monthly public transport spending exceeds 40,000 won, regardless of the previous month’s spending. The government temporarily raised the K-Pass refund rate for general users to 30 percent from 20 percent for six months from April 2026.

KakaoBank launches Brand Pocket adding partner benefits to group accounts

KakaoBank said on Tuesday it launched Brand Pocket, a service that provides partner benefits to customers using its group account. The structure offers rewards when users complete partner missions within the group account. The first partnership is with HanaTour through the \"Group Account HanaTour Pocket\". Users can set a target amount of 100,000 to 2,000,000 won and join until May 18. Additional rewards and a June 26 draw are included.
