SKT\'s A. AI service restored after temporary outage
SK Telecom\'s AI service A. suffered a temporary disruption and has been restored. SKT said the A. team carried out system maintenance from 4:30 p.m. to 5:13 p.m. on Aug. 6. Earlier, functions including call summary did not work properly. The service returned to normal after the maintenance was completed. SKT initially suspected a large language model error, but the check found a problem in calling equipment.

Rebellions builds global GPU-class AI infrastructure with Korean-made NPU
Rebellions said it has implemented infrastructure performance comparable to global GPU servers on a single server by combining a Korean-made AI chip and a large language model. The company ran SK Telecom’s proprietary AI foundation model, A.X K1, on its own AI semiconductor server, Rebel Server, and demonstrated an agent service handling simultaneous user requests. It said it stably executed a language model with more than 500 billion parameters on one server.

Korean AI chips speed up mass production, commercialisation as MSIT holds growth forum
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT held the K-AI Semiconductor Growth Forum in Seoul on June 4 to share results from domestic AI chip development and discuss growth strategies. About 300 people attended, including government, parliament and industry representatives. The forum presented pilot project cases and export-linked examples, and disclosed progress on the K-Perf performance benchmark. The ministry also outlined plans to expand standards, enhance testing and open a technical support centre in the first half.
