NH Investment Securities posts record Q2 results; H1 net profit nears 1 trillion won

NH Investment Securities said on Wednesday its second-quarter operating profit rose 111.6 percent from a year earlier to 681.2 billion won, while net profit climbed 90.5 percent to 489.4 billion won, both quarterly records. First-half operating profit reached 1.32 trillion won and net profit was 965.1 billion won, the highest for any first half. The company cited higher brokerage income and balanced growth across product sales, investment banking and operations.

KB Securities posts 600.6 billion won Q2 operating profit, up 175.5 percent

KB Securities said its second-quarter operating profit and net profit more than doubled from a year earlier, delivering its best-ever first-half performance. The brokerage reported consolidated operating profit of 600.6 billion won, up 175.5 percent, and net profit of 450.8 billion won, up 180.6 percent. First-half operating profit totalled 1.05 trillion won and net profit 801.0 billion won, the highest on a half-year basis.

Kakao expands AI commerce tests; payment is key beyond recommendations

Kakao is expanding AI commerce experiments inside KakaoTalk, aiming to keep users within the app from recommendation and search to booking and payment. The company has added a “Special Friend” gift feature and strengthened the “Kanana” place agent to broaden recommendations and enable reservations. Analysts say monetisation depends on whether recommendations translate into completed transactions and payments within KakaoTalk, not just feature launches.
