PayPal expands agentic payments and stablecoins; second-quarter revenue beats estimates
PayPal set out stablecoins and AI-based payments as key elements of its strategy after reporting second-quarter results. Cointelegraph reported that PayPal posted revenue of $8.68 billion. Earnings per share were $1.26, down from $1.30 a year earlier and below the market estimate of $1.28. Revenue rose from $8.29 billion and exceeded the market forecast of $8.47 billion.

Ripple joins Linux Foundation AI payments project to expand XRP and RLUSD
Ripple has joined the Linux Foundation’s newly launched x402 Foundation as a premier member to help develop an open payments standard for AI agents, applications and APIs. Ripple said it has integrated x402 support into the XRP Ledger, enabling AI agents to pay service fees automatically using XRP and RLUSD. More than 40 companies and institutions, including AWS, Google, Visa and Coinbase, are participating.

AllUnity to issue SEKAU Swedish krona-pegged stablecoin
AllUnity, a European regulated stablecoin issuer backed by DWS, Flow Traders and Galaxy, will issue SEKAU, a stablecoin pegged to the Swedish krona. SEKAU will be backed 1:1 by Swedish krona reserves and issued as a regulated e-money token under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA). Holders will have a legal right to redeem at par. The token is designed for institutions, fintechs and corporates, with a June launch planned.
