Snapdragon Summit 2026: Trying out Google Book for document writing and photo editing
Agentic AI appears set to spread faster, based on hands-on use of agentic AI PCs built into laptops and glasses. In demo rooms at Snapdragon Summit 2026 in Maui, Google Book opened apps and photos from a nearby smartphone directly on a laptop without using the cloud, while Gemini on XR glasses guided photo editing. Demos also showed cross-device continuity, peer-to-peer file access over Wi-Fi, standalone smart glasses operation, and an AI PC that drafts proposals and emails for final user approval.

Snapdragon Summit 2026: All AI from watches to glasses as Google Android XR uses Snapdragon by form factor
Google\'s Android XR device lineup is expanding by using different Snapdragon platforms depending on form factor. At Qualcomm\'s Snapdragon Summit in Maui, Google executive Shahram Izadi said the future of personal computing is not defined by a single device and requires integrated platforms combining silicon, computing and AI. Qualcomm\'s Ziad Asghar said smartphones will remain a hub, but wearable devices are needed for personalised AI. Devices include Samsung\'s Galaxy XR headset, XREAL Aura wired XR glasses and AI glasses planned with eyewear brands.

Qualcomm targets mixed reality market with AI-powered XR platform
Qualcomm has introduced a platform aimed at dedicated chipsets for mixed reality devices. Qualcomm Technologies said it unveiled the Snapdragon Reality Elite platform, featuring up to 48 TOPS of on-device AI performance to run large language models and large vision models on the device. It offers higher GPU, CPU and NPU performance than the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 and supports up to 4.4K resolution per eye at 90 frames per second.
