Bitcoin may break through \'September weakness\' as U.S. stocks, rates and ETFs come into focus

Bitcoin could face seasonal downside pressure in September, a period that has often been weak for both U.S. stocks and bitcoin, CoinPost cited Japan-based research firm XWIN Japan as saying. XWIN Japan noted the S&P 500 has averaged a -0.8 percent return in September over the past 50 years, while bitcoin posted negative September returns for six straight years from 2017 to 2022. It said marketwide risk sentiment, U.S. long-term yields, expectations for Federal Reserve rate cuts, and spot bitcoin ETF flows and demand are key variables.
