XRP Ledger security upgrade goes live on mainnet, boosts DEX and lending stability
XRP Ledger (XRPL) activated its fixCleanup3_2_0 upgrade on the mainnet, reinforcing functions including single-asset vaults, lending protocols, permissioned decentralised exchanges and domains. A blockchain media outlet said the amendment took effect with support from 30 of 35 validators. The upgrade makes XRPL 3.2.0 the new minimum supported version. XRP Ledger manages changes affecting transaction handling through its amendment system, requiring 80 percent support and a two-week confirmation period.

Former Ripple CTO says only this would make him consider unretiring
David Schwartz, a former Ripple chief technology officer and a core developer of the XRP Ledger, named Nick Bougalis as the only reason he would consider reversing his retirement. Schwartz said his condition for returning depends on a specific person, not money or the scale of work. He retired on Jan. 1, 2026 and now serves as Ripple’s honorary CTO, providing selective advice while remaining involved in releases such as the XRPL 3.2.0 update.
