[Digital Today reporter Yoonseo Lee (이윤서)] The XRP Ledger's key fix upgrade, the fixCleanup3_2_0 amendment, is expected to be applied to the mainnet on July 29, local time.
According to blockchain outlet U.Today, the amendment reached 85.71 percent consensus through validator voting.
The upgrade includes fixes directly tied to XRP Ledger transaction processing. It covers a single-asset vault, a lending protocol, a permissioned decentralised exchange (DEX), a multi-purpose token and an authority-based domain. If there are no changes, it will be activated within 2 days.
XRP Ledger manages changes that affect transaction processing through its amendment system. Even bug fixes must go through an amendment approval process if they alter the transaction process. Validators vote on such changes, and 80 percent support is required for the activation timer to start. After that, the change is applied only if at least 80 percent of trusted validators maintain support for 2 weeks.
The amendment is linked to Ripple's work to strengthen XRP Ledger security. On May 27, fixCleanup3_1_3, a package of fixes related to non-fungible tokens (NFTs), authority-based domains, vaults and a lending protocol, was activated. XRPL 3.2.0, released in June, was an update focused on clean-up and maintenance and included the fixCleanup3_2_0 amendment while additionally reflecting the backlog of confirmed issues.
Ripple has said it would form a dedicated artificial intelligence (AI) red team in March to continuously find vulnerabilities in XRP Ledger, and the first dedicated security update, XRPL 3.1.3, was released afterward. In 3.2.0, it cleaned up some amendments that had been active for more than 2 years and incorporated additional fixes into the mainline.
The market is focusing on the point that this update is closer to strengthening stability than simply adding functions. In particular, because it includes widely used feature sets such as the single-asset vault and lending protocol and permissioned DEX, it is being read as maintenance work from the perspective of network operations. With validator consensus already at 85.71 percent, the key variable at this stage is whether the planned schedule is maintained.
In this 흐름, a follow-up software release has also been announced. RippleX developers said they plan to release XRPL v3.3.0 in the coming weeks. This version is expected to include amendments related to batch processing, confidential transfers, sponsored fees and reserves, permission delegation, and dynamic multi-purpose tokens (MPT). If fixCleanup3_2_0 is applied as scheduled, XRP Ledger will move into a subsequent upgrade phase linking security checks and feature maintenance.
