Woori Multicultural Scholarship Foundation seeks participants for learning mentoring program
Woori Financial Group\'s Woori Multicultural Scholarship Foundation said on April 9 it is recruiting participants for its new \"Woori Up Learning Mentoring\" program. The project aims to narrow learning gaps among students in vulnerable groups and support self-development. University mentors must be able to provide in-person tutoring twice a week in the greater Seoul area. Mentors who complete the program will receive a 2,000,000 won scholarship and a certificate.

Woori Financial Group said on Wednesday it held events marking its 25th anniversary at its head office history museum, \"Woori 1899\", and at a Goodwill store under the theme \"Roots of 1899, 127 years together\". The group, launched in 2001 and based on Woori Bank, traces its origins to Daehan Cheonil Bank founded in 1899. About 230 people attended, including Chairman Lim Jong-ryong and singer IU.

Woori Financial Group’s Woori Multicultural Scholarship Foundation will select 1,200 multicultural scholarship students in 2026 and provide scholarships totaling 2.3 billion won, it said on March 26. Applications will be accepted through April 17 via its website, with final recipients to be announced in June after document screening. The program supports children of multicultural families with career exploration, learning consulting and networking, and includes scholarship-use management linked with Good Neighbors.
