Woori Financial Group's Woori Multicultural Scholarship Foundation said on April 9 it is recruiting participants for its new "Woori Up Learning Mentoring" program this year. It was set up to narrow learning gaps among students in vulnerable groups and support stronger self-development capabilities.

University student mentors can apply if they are enrolled in, or on leave from, a domestic university or graduate school and can provide in-person tutoring twice a week in the greater Seoul area. Mentors who complete the program will receive a 2,000,000 won scholarship and a certificate of completion.

Mentees will be students from sixth grade in elementary school to third grade in middle school who need basic learning guidance.

Park Su-mi (박수미), a deputy manager at the Woori Multicultural Scholarship Foundation, said, "Through Woori Up Learning Mentoring, we hope children and teenagers will build their learning capabilities and gain opportunities for independent growth." She added, "We look forward to strong interest and applications from university students and relevant institutions."
