Team Naver proposes AI factory partnership in France, expands to industrial AI and content

Team Naver is expanding cooperation with French companies and institutions on AI infrastructure, industry-focused AI and content. Naver said CEO Choi Soo-yeon (최수연) and Naver Cloud CEO Kim Yoo-won (김유원) met French media, IT, energy, mobility and finance executives during President Lee Jae-myung’s France trip. It proposed jointly building an AI factory in Europe and outlined plans for sector-specific AI and content partnerships, including webtoons and an IP adaptation fund.

Naver Webtoon shuts 3 illegal webtoon sites in international operation, operators arrested

Naver Webtoon said on Aug. 13 it shut down three global English-language illegal webtoon and comics distribution sites and arrested their operators through international cooperation with South Korea\'s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Interpol and law enforcement agencies in North Africa. The sites targeted users in the United States and Europe, offering about 300 Naver Webtoon works via unauthorized scanning and translation.

Webtoon Entertainment posts $338.47 million Q2 revenue, down 2.8 percent on currency impact

Webtoon Entertainment, Naver Webtoon’s U.S. headquarters, said second-quarter revenue was $338.47 million, down 2.8 percent from a year earlier due to currency effects. On a constant-currency basis, revenue rose 5.2 percent to $366.39 million. Paid content and IP revenue fell, while advertising rose. Korea revenue increased, but Japan revenue declined. Net loss widened to $14.58 million and adjusted EBITDA fell to $5.48 million.
