Samsung Electronics rolls out Galaxy Watch blood pressure tracking in U.S.
Samsung Electronics has begun a phased rollout of blood pressure tracking for Galaxy Watch users in the United States, bringing a feature previously available in places including South Korea. The function works on Galaxy Watch 4 and later models running Wear OS 4.0 or higher and shows systolic and diastolic readings alongside heart rate. Users must calibrate with a separate cuff monitor and recalibrate about every 28 days. Use requires the Samsung Health Monitor app and a Galaxy phone running Android 12 or later.

Pixel Watch update supports tap to pay without Wallet app
Google has introduced an “Express Pay” feature through a major Pixel Watch update that allows payments without opening the Wallet app, The Verge reported on March 3. The feature applies from Pixel Watch 2 and requires users to enable it, with payment available after unlocking the device. The update expands payments from transit to retail, enhances Pixel phone integration with auto-lock and alerts, and adds Find Hub, new gestures and broader Satellite SOS availability.

Qualcomm unveils AI-enabled Snapdragon Wear Elite, Samsung and Google adoption possible
Qualcomm has unveiled Snapdragon Wear Elite, a next-generation wearable processor aimed at boosting on-device AI and power efficiency. Built on a 3-nanometre process, it brings the Elite brand to wearables for the first time and supports Android, Wear OS and Linux. The chip combines low-power AI and a Hexagon NPU that supports large language models. Qualcomm said battery life and connectivity options can improve. Google, Samsung and Motorola may adopt it.
