KB Financial Group has narrowed its shortlist for next chairman to six candidates, including incumbent Yang Jong-hee (양종희), as it begins the selection process amid delays in regulators’ governance reform plan for financial holding firms. KB Financial Group has narrowed its list of candidates for the next chairman to six. The group’s Chairman Nomination Committee met on Thursday and confirmed a shortlist comprising four internal candidates and two external candidates. Internal candidates include incumbent chairman Yang Jong-hee, division heads Lee Jae-geun and Lee Chang-kwon, and Kookmin Bank CEO Lee Hwan-ju. External candidates include former Woori Bank CEO Kwon Kwang-seok and one candidate who requested anonymity.

Shinhan Bank\'s Shinhan Certificate subscribers top 13 million
Shinhan Bank said on Thursday the number of subscribers to its electronic signature authentication service, Shinhan Certificate, has exceeded 13 million. The service can be used for identity verification and electronic signatures when conducting financial transactions and using partner services. Subscribers rose by about 3 million in around a year after surpassing 10 million in May last year. The bank has expanded issuance via non-face-to-face channels and increased participating institutions.
