Cardano figure floats case for ADA above $5, with big investors seen as key
A Cardano ecosystem figure has outlined conditions he says are needed to lift ADA above $5, including founder Charles Hoskinson taking part directly in governance and a major investor buying 1 billion ADA and registering as a DRep. The proposal has drawn mixed reactions, with supporters citing stronger decision-making and possible institutional inflows, while critics warn of conflicts of interest. ADA trades around $0.1626, far below $5.

Cardano developer Input Output will transfer control of key blockchain infrastructure to external teams as part of efforts to decentralise the network. The handover covers the Haskell node, Plutus smart-contract platform, Daedalus wallet, Hydra scaling technology and developer relations. SevenLabs and TeraGon will take on parts of development, with the transition starting in August and running through 2027. The announcement comes as Cardano faces weak network activity and a sharp drop in ADA.

Charles Hoskinson signals pause as TapTools shuts and ADA slides
Cardano (ADA) founder Charles Hoskinson (찰스 호스킨슨) said he will step back from activity for a while, without giving details. His remarks draw attention as pressure builds across the Cardano ecosystem, including TapTools’ plan to shut down within 2 weeks and the closure of NFT marketplace JPG.Store. The community also rejected funding for Cardano Summit 2026. ADA fell below $0.20 after his post and hit a five-year low near $0.18.
