Cardano network transactions surge, ADA price slips
The Cardano blockchain processed 1,780,896 transactions over five days, marking its highest level of network activity in the past five years. The tally for epoch 660 from Oct. 6 to 11 exceeded the previous high of 1,566,974 transactions set in epoch 304 in November 2021. Activity was linked to decentralised governance procedures during the Voltaire era and on-chain voting by delegated representatives. ADA fell 3.58 percent to $0.2429 despite the traffic surge.

Cardano to transfer control of core infrastructure to external teams
Cardano developer Input Output will transfer control of key blockchain infrastructure to external teams as part of efforts to decentralise the network. The handover covers the Haskell node, Plutus smart-contract platform, Daedalus wallet, Hydra scaling technology and developer relations. SevenLabs and TeraGon will take on parts of development, with the transition starting in August and running through 2027. The announcement comes as Cardano faces weak network activity and a sharp drop in ADA.
