Red Hat expands cooperation with IBM and Palo Alto Networks to help companies tackle software vulnerabilities
Red Hat said on Thursday it is expanding cooperation with Palo Alto Networks and IBM to help companies detect vulnerabilities early and quickly apply protections across open-source software, commercial applications, operational technology and healthcare technology. The effort links Palo Alto Networks’ virtual patching with IBM-Red Hat Project Lightwell to combine network-level protection with software security patches. It aims to implement a dual-defense approach that carries out vulnerability response and security patching at the same time.

Trend AI joins Anthropic\'s Project Glasswing
Trend AI, Trend Micro’s enterprise cybersecurity unit, said on Tuesday it will join Anthropic’s Project Glasswing, which makes its AI model Mythos available to selected companies for cybersecurity use. Trend AI said it will use Claude Mythos Preview to support software code review and analysis. It plans to help Korean customers integrate AI-based vulnerability intelligence into their risk management systems through its Vision One platform.

Palo Alto warns AI cyber attacks could become routine within 3 to 5 months
Palo Alto Networks warned that software vulnerability attacks abusing artificial intelligence could become a new standard cyber threat within the next few months. Chief Technology Officer Lee Klarich said organisations have only about 3 to 5 months to build defences ahead of attackers. He urged faster action before AI-based exploits become routine. Google said it blocked a large-scale AI-enabled exploit attempt this week, while firms including Anthropic and OpenAI announced related security efforts.
